🪒The ABC of Shaving🛁

Despite the fact that there are many ways to remove leg hair, shaving seems to be the easiest, fastest and most painless option. But how to guarantee that the hair growth is slow and the legs stay smooth for longer? The technique is important when shaving, but the right technique is not enough to get soft, smooth and hair-free skin. Just as important as the shave itself is what you do before and after you shave.

* The most important procedure before shaving is exfoliation - this is how you remove dead skin cells from the body and bring ingrown hairs back to where they really should be. Exfoliation is good precisely because, in addition to properly preparing for hair removal, it also leaves your skin silky smooth after shaving!

* It is also important to take a shower or bath before shaving, as this removes sweat from the skin. In addition, it moisturizes the hair follicle, which makes it up to 60 percent easier to shave. It would be most useful to soak under water for 2-3 minutes, because later (for example, after being under water for 15 minutes) the skin starts to wrinkle slightly and swell gently, which is why it is no longer possible to shave very close to the skin.

* Apply plenty of shaving gel, foam or moisturizing shower gel to the skin, as they keep the hair follicle moist and ensure the razor glides smoothly. Using soap is not recommended as it can clog the razor blades and many soaps are also drying to the skin and can cause flaking.

* Choose your razor carefully. Many companies offer a large selection of different razors, from which you can choose exactly the right one for you. It is important to keep the blade well against the skin at all times, even in tricky places like knees and ankles. Never use men's razors to remove hair, because a woman's skin requires a women's razor. However, a razor that has a moisturizing strip next to the blades works best - it removes hairs most efficiently and guarantees a more permanent result for the back end.

* When shaving, make sure to move the razor upwards along the leg. In this way, you remove the dead skin cells that were still left during the exfoliation of the body, and you also get rid of the smallest and most stubborn hairs and inhibit their regrowth.

* Never use a worn blade. The new blade ensures a closer and smoother shave and prevents cuts and skin irritation. The blade should be changed as soon as you feel that it has become even a little bit duller and no longer glides so easily on the skin. On average, women replace a razor blade after ten uses, but blade dulling depends on hair growth and shaving frequency, so it is not possible to determine a specific time.

* After shaving, rinse the body thoroughly and pat dry. Avoid rubbing strongly with the towel and do not pat the body completely dry. Regardless of whether you shave or not, moisturizing with a cream or oil is the best thing you can do for your body. However, it is especially essential when you have just shaved yourself and, among other things, a good cream or oil will smooth your skin just enough for hair removal to remain effective.
