☀️Why and how to protect the skin from the sun?☀️

Heading to the beach in the scorching heat of midsummer, probably no one doubts the necessity of sunscreen. But riding a bicycle on a city street on a cloudy day, going for a morning run in a shady park, or having fun with children on the playground?

Ultraviolet radiation also penetrates the ground through clouds, and sunburn can occur even in shady places. Since we are exposed to the sun's rays all year round and in any weather, it is worth protecting and invigorating the skin to prevent the risks of skin cancer, pigment spots and premature aging. So that summer is good for both body and mind, we repeat the rules for safe sunbathing.

The consequences of sunburn and skin damage can be reflected only after several decades, therefore children should be very carefully protected from sunburn, because studies show that sunburns received in childhood can later promote the development of skin cancer.

Young women should remember that the sun is one of the biggest factors that cause premature aging of the skin. Regardless of age or season, everyone else needs to protect their skin, especially in summer.

USE CREAM WITH SUN FACTOR

The use of sun creams is almost mandatory for prolonged exposure to the sun. There is no use in using any cream; you need to use a cream that is strong enough to protect your skin type. If you have fair skin, you should wear a sunscreen with a protection factor of at least 30.

CREAM EARLY AND OFTEN

Another trick to protect yourself from the sun is to apply the cream at least 20-30 minutes before exposing your body to the sun's rays. This way, there is enough time for the cream to be absorbed and to provide the skin with sufficient protection from the sun. It is also a good idea to use sunscreen regularly, as its protection decreases over time. How often should it be applied? Of course, it depends on your hair type, the strength of the sun's rays and the selected protection factor, but on average, creaming at intervals of 1-2 hours provides sufficient protection.

DON'T FORGET YOUR EARS, BACK OF NECK AND FEET

When applying sunscreen, most of us forget some parts of the body, especially the ears, the back of the neck and the legs. These areas usually get a lot of sun, so without proper protection, sunburn is inevitable.

COVER YOURSELF

If the sun is very strong, a high-factor sunscreen is not always useful. In this case, it is good to cover your body with light clothes that provide additional protection. The scalp and face are also very sensitive areas, so you may want to wear a hat if you plan to be in the sun for extended periods of time.

DANGERS OF A CLOUDY DAY

One of the biggest mistakes people make is to think that the skin is not at risk in the absence of direct sunlight. In fact, the sun's rays and harmful UV radiation penetrate the clouds very easily, so even in cloudy weather it is possible to get a good sunburn. Wear sunscreen even if you don't feel direct sunlight on your skin!

WEAR SUNGLASSES WITH UV PROTECTION

The eyes are another area that is very sensitive to UV radiation. Don't skimp when buying sunglasses, because your eyes deserve the best protection. Wearing poor quality sunglasses can often do more harm than good, so avoid them at all costs. When buying sunglasses, make sure that they have UV protection - glasses with UV 400 protection ensure adequate protection for your eyes.

KEEP AWAY FROM THE MIDNIGHT SUN

UV radiation is strongest (and most dangerous) between 10 am and 4 pm, so try to minimize sun exposure during this period. If you want to sunbathe, do it early in the morning or in the evening. This way, you will miss the hottest part of the day, but you will keep your skin healthy.

BUY A SUN UMBRELLA

Since you probably plan to spend a lot of time at the beach in the summer, you can't completely avoid strong sunlight. Do yourself a big favor and buy a sunshade to protect your skin from the sun while you're lying on the beach listening to the sound of the waves. Remember: health is always more important than your tan!

TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN AFTER TANNING

Creams containing SPF should always be washed off the skin after a sunny summer day. After sunbathing, it is worth using after-tan products that cool and heal the skin. Since the sun dries the skin, it is important to moisturize it.
